The Surrey Junior Easter Championships will be run at Nonsuch High School on Easter Monday, 28th March 2016 for seven sections: under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, plus a new section for U18 and adults with grades below 150. This will be part of the 2016 Surrey Grand Prix. There will be a trophy for the winner of each section as well as rosettes or medals for those participants scoring three points out of five games. Please note that the Under 11, U12, U13 and U18/adult sections will be sent for ECF grading.
Please note that this is not a knock out tournament. All five rounds will be played by all participants. Clocks will be used on all boards for the U11, U12, U13, and U18/adult graded sections where players will have 30 mins each to complete all their moves. For the lower age sections, games not completed at the end of the time period will be adjudicated. Scoring is 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.
Please make sure the given information for age and date of birth is accurate on the entry form to ensure entry to the correct section. Ages are calculated as at midnight on 31st August 2015.
Entry Fee: £16 for first player, £10 for each additional family member. There is no fee for visitors and family members who are not playing. No late entries will be accepted on the day.
Refreshments: an excellent variety of hot and cold food will be available at the venue all day.
Parking: Free parking is available at the venue all day.
