The 29th Surrey Chess Congress took place from Saturday, 26th August to Monday, 28th August at the Sports Hall, University of Surrey, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 7XH. There were five separate tournaments and the FIDE rated open incorporated the Southern Counties Chess Union Individual Championship.

The venue for our event was the Sports Hall at the Univeristy of Surrey. The photo above shows the venue (the large ivy covered building) which is the building nearest the university's main entrance.
